A heat pump is one of the most efficient ways to stay warm in winter and cool in summer—but with a few simple habits, you can make it work even better for you. Here’s how to keep your home cosy and your energy use in check.
Dusty filters make your heat pump work harder than it needs to. A quick clean every few weeks helps your system run smoothly and keeps your air fresher. Not sure how? [We’ve got a simple guide here] or give us a call for help.
Gently lift or release the front cover of your indoor unit to access the filters. You should see mesh panels sitting just behind the front cover.
Slide the filters out carefully. Most will simply lift out—no tools needed.
Rinse the filters under lukewarm running water. If they’re very dusty, you can use a soft brush or cloth. Avoid hot water, scrubbing, or harsh cleaners.
Pat the filters dry with a clean towel and leave them to air-dry completely. Never put them back in wet.
Once dry, slide the filters back into place, close the front panel, and you’re done.
